Longer Hospital Stay

October 18, 2018 by Helena Trent 1 Comment

I wish I could post, yay, I am out of the hospital, but the hospital is not done with me yet. I need to stay here until at least Saturday for some test results to come back, then depends on what it says and what treatments it might need, we will see.

As much as I hate the idea of hospital, I realized as I am going such a tough time that if I were home, then I would be in real serious trouble! The medical staff here looks after me plus family and friend rotating visits. I know I am in best possible hands even though I don’t like the idea of it.

What’s keeping me here is the possibility of pneumonia. That’s the best case scenario believe or not. Let’s all pray it’s simple pneumonia that could be treated with some strong antibiotics. The alternatives are not something much more serious like I am reacting to the Targrisso pill in a bad way. They would have no choice be take me off if that’s the case.

From Hospital Bed

October 16, 2018 by Helena Trent 6 Comments

Just a quick update, I went to my Monday morning radiation appointment, the radiation oncologist was there, took one look at me and said let’s talk first. I told her all that happened over the weekend, unable to keep anything down, vomit, diarrhea, weak… well, she decided I needed to go to the ER instead! So, went to the ER, they started all kinds of fluids and tests, I was very dehydrated. They kept me overnight and I am still in the hospital. As much IV fluids I have been given, nothing stops my diarrhea so far, they won’t get me out unless I can eat and hold food down on my own. No telling how long I need to be here.

Trudging Along

October 13, 2018 by Helena Trent 3 Comments

I haven’t posted anything the last couple of days because there was not much new except the accumulative effect of the radiation just kept building up. By Thursday and Friday, I had very little left. I would come home from radiation and sleep for 2 hours, then most of the days were spent more or less in bed from all sorts of misery. No need to repeat here. Let’s just say I am getting the “full experience”, wouldn’t be any fun to leave anything out, would it? lol! I am grateful for the weekend to take a break. My poor body is definitely out in its own little world!

I have 3 more radiation sessions next week, then I am done! They should give me a been-there-done-that t-shirt that says,

I survived my radiation without turning into a green hulk (from puking)!

Have a great weekend, all you beautiful loving healthy people out there! 🙂 Enjoy some sunshine and fun for me please.
