Just a quick update, I went to my Monday morning radiation appointment, the radiation oncologist was there, took one look at me and said let’s talk first. I told her all that happened over the weekend, unable to keep anything down, vomit, diarrhea, weak… well, she decided I needed to go to the ER instead! So, went to the ER, they started all kinds of fluids and tests, I was very dehydrated. They kept me overnight and I am still in the hospital. As much IV fluids I have been given, nothing stops my diarrhea so far, they won’t get me out unless I can eat and hold food down on my own. No telling how long I need to be here.

Damnit Helena, you dig down deep and find that Chi of yours and tell that body that you are in charge! Sorry, but I hate the idea of you in the hospital. Me on the other hand I could use a hospital vist…all that rest and attention.
Double Prayers coming your way today.
Keep your spirit up…
Dearest Helena.
I am glad you are in the ER. They will take care of you. Just breathe. Try to relax. LIsten to what your body is trying to tell you. My Helena used to say, “This too will pass.” Fear not, because you are not alone. Your “team” will get you through this.
I hope you can take the marijuana for any pain you have while you are in the hospital. Rest is important. I just looked at your profile picture an saw your amazing smile. You radiate joy.
If there is anything you need, don’t hesitate to call me. The new me you helped create is on call for anything you may need. My prayers are with you. Love, Elaine
Oh, gosh, Helena. It’s one thing after the other, isn’t it? I hope you’re much better today! I’m at a writing retreat in Ligonier this week and, because of wifi problems here, I’m just now seeing your latest post. It’s a group of Mindful Writes so we’ll send Mindful healing thoughts your way!
Following your blog! I know Sam! She is my walking buddy and neighbor. Prayers for you daily. I don’t know how you write words when you are so ill right now. Your strength is inspiring! Glad they are keeping you until your fluids get back to normal. Just know that you are thought about and prayed for even by those who don’t personally know you.
You are so sweet! Thank you for your prayers.
