On My Way to Recovery

September 24, 2019 by Helena Trent 5 Comments

I had my last alchemo session today. Everything went very smoothly and I feel great! Thank you for your support and your prayers!!

Good news, I have my CT scan results back. All tumors shrunk and no new spots popped up, my bones showed signs of healing. Not bad after 3 chemo sessions! My oncologist is very happy with the results. The plan was 4 chemo treatments so I completed that today, now I move into the maintenance phase as planned. I could choose to have no chemo at all from now on, but since I have handled chemo exceptionally well, my oncologist decided to keep me on one of the low side effect chemo drug for a few more times just to speed up the tumor shrinking. We will see how I do with that. He took away the drug that has heavy side effects so I should not feel the nausea, low energy, etc. associated with chemo after treatments. If I don’t like it, he would take it away, but given how well I have done so far, I agreed to give it a try.

They will give me an MRI of the brain on 10/11 just to make sure brain tumors didn’t come back. It has no reason to since they have been cleared the last 2 scans.

My blood work results have also shown improvements. Many blood markers are moving back into the normal range or very close to it. Things are again looking up! Today is a good news day! 🙂

Thank you for all your prayers, encouragements, support on so many ways and so many levels! I know I could not have done this on my own. Many blessings to you all!

One Scan at a Time

September 5, 2019 by Helena Trent 4 Comments

Yesterday’s alchemo session went well. I think it was the best one so far. Since I didn’t get sick from my last session, I recovered that much faster and as a result went into this chemo session feeling a lot stronger. It normally would wipe me out on the day of chemo, but yesterday I was feeling quite OK.

I have my last scheduled chemo session on Tuesday, 9/24/19. My oncologist ordered a CT scan before my next chemo to see what progress we have made and also be able to make plans for future treatments before the end of this round of chemo. So the CT scan is scheduled for 9/20. I asked him what results he was looking for, he said reduction of tumors. As long as they are reducing in size, he will take off the chemo with the most damaging side effects and I could go on a maintenance dosage. It would still be once every 3 weeks, but would be considerably easier on my body and recovery time. From there, he said one scan at a time and make decisions based on each scan result. My kind of doctor! 🙂

Let’s pray for a good scan. I do feel good and strong, but hey, I have said that before. Not to be fooled this time. lol! Now I am prepared for everything.

Alchemo Blessing III

August 28, 2019 by Helena Trent 4 Comments

Another week to another alchemo session on Wednesday, 9/4 from 8:30am to 11am, EST. These sessions get shorter as my body is adjusting to the medication and they are able to administer it at a faster rate, same dose less time.

I show up and the nurses all know me as the “special one”. 🙂 Because I always have a special request of holding my medicine before they hook it up to my IV. I hold the medicine and chant to it silently, allow my body to feel it, integrate it, direct it to search and destroy cancer cells, kill the disease without killing the person and with that for the benefit of all beings. It takes a couple of minutes for my body to feel and accept the drug externally before I take it internally. The nurses now learn to hand me each drug, walk away to do their little tasks and come back in a few minutes. lol! I appreciate their patience and allow me the time with my little rituals. I am also the only person that alternates between sitting meditation and walking the hallway toting my IV tree around while I get my treatment. They are all so nice giving me the space to do so.

After this one, I only have one more to go at the end of September. I am already planning all the tai chi trips I could go on. I still have maintenance doses I need to do ongoing on a regular basis, but it wouldn’t be as intense. The maintenance drug I receive is not considered chemo. It’s a drug that inhibits the formation of blood vessels so tumors can’t grow.

At stage 4 cancer, there is no such thing as remission in doctors’ books, it’s all about extend and prolong life, but doctors don’t know everything… neither do I. I only need to take one breath at a time, live one day at a time, do one treatment at a time. The rest is taken cared of by life. I have come to know the essence of living is really that simple.
