Thank you all for your wonderful comments and words of encouragement from my last post!
Yesterday radiation treatments started back up, my body really did not like it one bit. With two days off over the weekend, my body thought we were done with that stuff. This time, the nausea came back with a fight!! Even with anti-nausea prescription medication, seabands, ginger tea, and rice soup, my body has managed to throw up twice yesterday and once today. The big problem today was I threw up my Tagrisso super-duper drug. I am not allowed to have a makeup dose if I throw up because there is no way to tell how much was digested even though it was only in my system for less than 30 min. It would have to count as a missing dose. 🙁
After much consideration, I decided to try medical cannabis to counter-act some of these side affects. I know medical cannabis has been a heated controversial subject (at least in the States). I was never conventional anyway, no need to start now!
Do you believe in coincidence? While I have all these horrible diagnosis coming through, I was actually launching a website for a new client that championed and helped shaped the medical cannabis bill and policy in Pennsylvania. After I told her I would like to try it, she got me registered, certified, and products in hand in less than 24 hours! Unbelievable!!
Heather has put her passion into educating people on the use and policies of medical cannabis. She has a teen age daughter that has been battling with epilepsy. 90% of her daughter’s seizures have stopped by using medical cannabis. Heather dedicates herself into helping children and people in need by fundraising for a project that would bring medical products and research in this field. If any of you feel compelled to help by buying a fundraising t-shirt or a hat, etc., here is her newly launched site by yours truly… with the help of several people. We all know how fundraising t-shirts work. 🙂

So, tonight, I am going to give medical cannabis to a try and see what the fuss is all about! I am not one that likes to get high on anything, I don’t even drink alcohol… but then Brett reminded me of the 2 tons of opioids I have already ingested since this started. Yeah, I really would like to get off that.
Hopefully this works, stay tuned! 🙂

It’s possible you may not get high at all, Helena, depending on the makeup of the medicine and the way it’s delivered (pills vs. smoking, etc.). At least that’s my understanding. But, if you do, just enjoy it! I think it’s great you’re trying that and kudos to your friend and her organization! Great website too, by the way.
You’re right, Larry, I didn’t get high. I chose not to get the kind that I smoke… don’t think my lungs would appreciate that! 🙂
Ha! You’re right!
OMG. So funny. You go girl!
Dearest Helena,
I am so happy that you had a good night sleep. That is a key to healing. The rest allows your body to go to work renewing your cells.
And my children claim that no one overdoses on marijuana.
Don’t suffer pain. It stresses healing.
Allow sleep, peace and relaxation to rejuvenate you.
Good move to take your meds before radiation.
I missed you at Tai Chi. Your students are doing amazing! Sam, Sherri and Eileen are doing a great job. I don’t know if my meal worked for you but I sure enjoyed knowing that I might in some small way be repaying you for your patience and commitment to our fledgling tai chi community.
Buddah is laughing at you for your “weed” comments. God created it you know. Maybe it was made legal just in time to help you. You are that special!
All my prayers and appreciation,
Your student, Elaine
